The P.A.S.T. is Present Investigations: The Yakima Sports Center
The Yakima Sports Center is a wonderful historic Yakima Building that has served as an icon in the areas history. The building was built in the early 1900's and has played a pivotal role in downtown Yakima ever since. Much of the building's exterior and interior remain as was when built, and some parts retain the feel of the 1950's & 1960's renovations.
Over the years, the main floor of the building has served as several business, including stores, and a gambling establishment. Since the 1960's it has served as the Yakima Sports Center, a bar and gambling facility with the present day neon sign of a man with a gun being installed in 1968. The Sports Center closed for a brief period in the early 2000's until new owners re-opened the business under the same well known name, the Yakima Sports Center and it currently serves as a family orientated restaurant and sports bar.
In February 2009, The P.A.S.T. is Present Paranormal Investigations, thru the Committee for Downtown Yakima (CDY), was privileged to have investigated this wonderful location. Our investigation consisted of an extensive 3 phase investigation, over an eight hour period that yielded far more evidence then thought possible for any one location on one investigation.
Data collected from investigation includes, but is not limited to:
AUDIO (EVP): Approximately 236.
PHOTOS: One (1) photo containing a shadow figure. One (1) photo containing an almost complete full body apparition
VIDEO: Five (5) video clips of object manipulation which include: Three (3) clips of sheets, serving as covers, being lifted and taken down from video machines. (Two of the three were backed with audible and recorded EVP's and witnessed by investigators.) Two (2) video clips of a door shutting. (Both with investigators present and EVP's).
PERSONAL EXPERIENCES (Backed by Evidence): Approximately 26 personal experiences of the investigators were backed with one, but often more, EVP's, Video and/or Thermal Evidence. (Some of which include - audible voices, noticeable temperature fluctuations, object manipulation and physical contact with the investigators.)
Summary of findings based on data collected:
The P.A.S.T. is Present Paranormal Investigations is confident in stating that the Yakima Sports Center does experience Paranormal Activity, and is haunted by several residual and intelligent spirits. We believe it is by far one of the most active locations known in the Pacific Northwest.
We would like to state that we do not believe that the paranormal activity that occurs at this location is dangerous to employees and people visiting the location. Thank you Yakima Sports Center for allowing us to investigate!
