Digital Audio Recorders
We use audio recorders during our investigations to help catch electronic voice phenomena (EVP). EVP are electronically generated noises that resemble speech, but are not the result of intentional voice recordings or renderings. Common sources of EVP include static, stray radio transmissions, and background noise.
Paranormal investigators label EVP during investigations based on question and answer interactions with unseen stimuli. Questions about the history of the location or the entity itself are voiced and then a period of silence is given for a reply.
During analysis review, EVP are often caught during these sessions in haunted locations but do not themselves classify a haunting.
